About Event

Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina is an annual classical music festival established in 2010 for the bicentennial of Frederic Chopin’s birth by the Kosovo Chopin Association, as the youngest member of the International Federation of Chopin Association.

Chopin Piano Fest Prishtina gathers local and world-renowned pianists and except for the opportunity to listen and enjoy great performances, it also organizes masterclasses with students, symposiums, nd other events. It also serves as an important platform for young talents to meet and exchange and present the music composed by them. Talented pianists can also become part of the competition ChopinPianoFest, in which the first prize wins a study week, masterclasses and an organized concert in Germany.

The Festival is the result of joint efforts by Dr. Lejla Pula-Haxhiu (President and Artistic Director of Festival) and Besa Luzha (Festival Organization Director). Initially formed only to celebrate the 200th birth of Chopin, the Festival was a great success and was greatly appreciated by the Kosovan audience. As a result, the Festival continues to be organized annually, becoming a traditional piano festival that is held in the spring of each year.

The Festival strives to promote the art of interpretation, the proper evaluation of music, and the technicalities that accompany it. With the adequate support from institutions and businesses that value cultivated arts and see a good opportunity of self-promotion, the Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina worked hard to further outshine its success of the past years.
